👥 What is Gram Sabha?
As provided under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, the Gram Sabha consists of the persons included in the electoral roll of the concerned constituency of the Grama Panchayat. It is one of the important mechanisms for ensuring people's participation in the functioning of the Local Self Government Institutions.
The Gram Sabha provides a forum to discuss various matters relating to the development and welfare of the locality, including development needs, basic infrastructure, welfare schemes, beneficiary selection, public health, sanitation, drinking water, roads, education, social security and other matters of public interest.

📅 Gram Sabha Meetings
Gram Sabha meetings are convened at prescribed intervals in accordance with the applicable legal provisions. The date, time, venue and agenda of each meeting are communicated to the public in advance.
Members of the Gram Sabha can participate in discussions, raise issues relating to their locality, submit suggestions and express their views on matters placed before the meeting.

The Ward Sabha is a people's platform functioning at the ward level of the Grama Panchayat. It provides an opportunity for residents of the ward to discuss local development requirements, public service delivery, welfare schemes and issues affecting the community.
It also serves as an important forum for direct communication between the people and their elected representatives and helps to bring local needs and suggestions to the attention of the Panchayat authorities.
